Inspiration in Film

Inspiration is important in life. Often people get inspired from random places. Nature, Animals, a perfect time youtube video. It almost seems random. The reason it seems so random is because Film, at the end of the day, is an art form. Since it is an art form, people can be influenced by the people around them, who came before them, the world around them, and anything else that they come in contact with.

In the most recent podcast episodes, some of the Cats talk about what inspired them to make films, and filmmakers that inspired them. Hazen Batock said Ryan Coogler inspired him, because many of his works have touched Hazen in a way that makes him want to push himself. Hazen also had some high praise for Ryan Coogler, calling him the best director of the 2010s and 2020s. Quinn Wolverton said that Steven Spielberg is a massive inspiration for him, and it can be easy to see, with Spielberg's amazing movies like the Indiana Jones franchise, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, and many more classics. Spielberg has inspired many people, in and out of film, and will go down in history as one of the best to ever do it. Kevin Baker said that he has no filmmaker that inspires him, but instead a content creation company inspired him.

That company was the company Roosterteeth, and the content they would often make. Roosterteeth dominated the online space in the 2000s to mid 2010s, and it can be easy to see how a person born in the 2000s was heavily influenced by them. The reason that inspiration is so important is because, to be frank, us Nova Cats are nothing important right now, but you never know where you will get inspiration from. Something we make will touch someone in a way to inspire them to create something great, even if it is out of spite. Or hopefully we get to be big and inspire other people. But inspiration is something no one strives to go out and do. Following your passions leads to people who want to be like that to be inspired and attempt to do the same.

So get up, go out, and make something that will eventually inspire the next generation of filmmakers!
